Conforming To The Image Of Jesus Christ

God’s divine plan for us is to conform us to the image of His dear Son Jesus Christ, aligning our will to His Will, and fulfilling the expected end He has prepared for us. Living our lives according to the Word of God. And not looking onto man or seeking the approval of the world.

What Does it Mean to Conform to the Image of Jesus Christ?

The Word of God says in Romans 8:29 that whom God did foreknow, He also  preordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

What this means is that as believers, God wants us to become Christians. In other words, He wants us to become like Jesus Christ in every area of our lives.  This is so that we can shine our light in the world which is full of darkness and bring others back to the Light.

Becoming like Jesus Christ, which is actually what it means to be a Christian is obeying God’s Word and living our day to day life by it. This is actually what the Bible means by conforming to the image of Jesus Christ.

This is allowing the Word of God to wash us and purify us from all worldly filth and lusts and transform us into a perfectly sanctified vessels to carry the wholeness of God: that is, becoming the temple of the Holy Spirit which then enables us to be hidden in Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ in turn hidden in God above all principalities and powers in Glory.

This is the Will of God for His children, to become like Jesus Christ. And it is not too late to join the Heaven’s citizenship so long as you still have breath left in you. But you have to make the decision now before it is too late; this is because delaying it is dangerous. You don’t own your life and death is inevitable, so Now is the perfect time.

Surrender all to the Lord Jesus Christ now because today is the day of salvation, do not wait till tomorrow. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and forgive you of all your sins, and give you his Holy Spirit to live for him alone in glory and power and honour to the Almighty God.

This is why the  Word of God says in Romans 13:11-14 that we should be conscious of the time because now is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. Our Journey on earth is just like the night and it is already far spent and the end is almost at hand. Therefore, we need to cast off the works of darkness, and put on the armour of light.

Let us walk honestly, as those who are in the light. And not in wild parties and drunkenness, neither should we engage in sexual immorality, promiscuity, recklessness, sensuality, indecency, lust, strife, quarreling, envying, etc. But we should put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. [Galatians 5:22-26]

In Romans 12: 2, the Bible says that we should not be conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Word of God also commanded us in Ephesians 5:1 to be followers of God as His dear children; walking in love, as Christ also did by loving us, and gave himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. –Romans 6: 23
