Words of Salvation, Deliverance and Revival
There are dangers inherent in every compromise done for the wrong reasons. As believers, we are not to yield to the pressures of the world pulling us to do things that do not work the righteousness of God. Anything we do that will make us to disobey the word of God for any reason is an evil compromise, and there are dangers associated with it.
The Ultimate danger is the danger of second death which is spending ones eternity in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. In Revelation 2:14-17, the scripture talks about believers who are in the church, yet are compromising their salivation for the lust of this world. And Jesus stated the danger or the punishment that awaits such believers if the did not repent quickly.
So it is in the interest of all believers not to trade anything for their souls, for what shall it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his soul. The life on earth is temporal. Therefore, do not let temporal pleasure deny you the promises of God and His Christ.
WHAT IS EVIL COMPROMISE?
Compromise is simply deviation from the Will of God due to every other reason other than the Word of God. It is when you are drawn away from obeying the Word of God by the cares of this life.
Evil compromise is falling away from the truth due to material or worldly gain: when love of money and worldly attachments stop you from abiding in the Word of God.
Evil compromise is disobeying God to please the flesh: all lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of life. When you go contrary to God’s commandment due to what you stand to lose or gain in this world that is an evil compromise and there are consequential dangers associated with it.
Evil compromise include all the works of the flesh; lies, cheating, selfishness, sexual immorality, sinful pleasure, anger, pride, intolerance, strife, hate , murder, stealing, unforgiveness, bitterness, envy etc.
In 2 Corinthians 6:11-18, the verse 17 says according to the Lord, that we should come out from among the unbelieving and the world with all its passing pleasures of sin, and be separated. That we should not touch the unclean thing and the Lord will receive us.
And when we have done this, God will be a Father unto us, and we shall be sons and daughters to the Lord Almighty.
What these Scriptures are telling us is that if we keep compromising, God will not receive us. If we keep mingling with the pleasures of this world, if we fail to separate our priorities/ desires from that of the people of the world, God will not be our Father.
In other words, we will not enjoy the benefits of being God’s children.
God is looking for those who are strong for the Kingdom, whose heart are perfect for the things of God, so that He will show Himself strong on their behalf.
God is looking for those who are fit for the kingdom.Jesus says in Luke 9:62, that no man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.
God is looking for those strong in the Lord and in the power of his might according to Ephesians 6:10. God is looking for soldiers who endured hardness.
In 2 Timothy 2: 3-4, the scripture says that we should endure hardness, as a good soldier of Christ. That no man that is in war front entangles himself with the affairs of this life, so that he may please him who chose him to be a soldier. God is looking for those with whom He will prove that He is God to the world. [2 Chronicles 16: 9]
Remember Joseph and Potipha’s wife: Genesis 39:6-9.
Mordecai refused to worship a man, he did not bow to Haman even against the King’s decree, Esther 3:1-6.
Esther said, ‘’If I perish, I perish’’ and went against the law of the Land to stand in the gap for her people, Esther 4:11-16.
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego defied the King’s decree to obey God’s Word, Daniel 3:15-18.
Daniel was strong in the lord and did not fail to serve God even in the face of death, Daniel 6:10.
Moses chose to suffer affliction with the people of God, rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season, he rejected the life of affluence in the palace and chose a solitary life of a shepherd in the desert, Heb 11:24-26.
Remember Esau, he sold his birthright for pottage (food), Genesis 25: 29-34.
Kind Saul was a man full of compromise. Saul sacrifices himself and broke the ordinances of the LORD because of fear of the people, 1 Sam 13: 8-14.
Saul disobeyed God’s commandment because of respect of persons and fear of losing his precious kingdom. He wanted to please man more than God.
In 1 Sam 15:10-19-23, Verse 23 says that rebellion is the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. King Saul rejected the Word of the Lord, and because of that he faced the danger of his rebellion: God rejected him from being king. Saul also consulted other gods, medium with familiar spirit instead of repenting and seeking God’s face, 1 Samuel 28:5-7-18-19.
As believers, we are not to entangle ourselves in evil compromise. Jesus taught about evil compromise in Luke 9:57-62.
The dangers of evil compromise include rejection, hardship, ejection from God’s presence, no answers to prayers, destruction and death as was evident in the life of Saul, the first King of Israel.
