Dangers Of Secret Sins: Not Too Late To Repent

Secret sin is a secret poison that kills one gradually.

Avoid secret sin like a plague; it is not to late to repent. Secret sins are those sins and unrighteousness you alone know about or so you think. You try so hard to hide it from the knowledge of others, most times you are successful in hiding it from men for a long while, some other times, you are not.

But there are three persons that are always aware of your secret Sins; there are three that you cannot deceive: the first person is God Almighty. He is all knowing, all seeing, most powerful and He is everywhere. The second person is yourself. You are very much aware of all your secret sins, you cannot hide it from yourself.

God has placed conscience in man; that we know when we are doing something wrong and we know when we are doing something right. And the third person is the devil. He is the accuser of God’s children. He uses all our sins both the ones done in the secret and the ones done in the open to accuse us before our God day and night.

Thank God for the mercies of God that is made available for believers through the precious Blood of Jesus Christ. That is why you are in big trouble if you are not in Christ Jesus. If you have not accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you are dangerously disadvantaged, because you will only be a prey to the devil and all his cohorts. Outside Christ means that you have not accepted the Word of God.

When the Word of God does not abide in you; which is the only spiritual sword available to God’s children to fight the devil, then  you are already damned. This is because the devil has three major agenda against God’s children, and non of them is good or manageable. His mission is to kill every good thing God has deposited in your life (Jeremiah 29:11), the ones he can not kill, he will steal so that you will be deprived of the benefits of being a child of God. And the ones he couldn’t steal, he destroys so that it will not be of any use to you, [John 10:10].

But Jesus gives you life and give it in abundance, all you need to do is to surrender your life to him. Accept his Words and obey them and you will live eternal Life. Jesus gives the kind of peace which nothing in the world can offer you. Not even all the money or pleasure in the world can offer that. It is a peace which passes all understanding; not even the devil can understand it.

Let Us Consider the Following Scriptures on the Subject of Secret Sins

King David understood the dangers of secret sins, that was why he made this prayer to God in Psalms 19:12-13 saying, “Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression”.

In Psalms 139:7-13, the psalmist was asking a rhetorical question. He says where could he hide from the Holy Spirit of God. He realized that God is everywhere and that there is no hiding from His presence. What it means is that all our sins are bare before Him. Our secret sins are not that secret after all, because God searches the heart and He formed our entire structure.

Secret Sin is a destiny destroyer. It is a sign of hypocrisy and lukewarmness. God hates hypocrites and He said that He will spit out the lukewarm out of His mouth, [Revelation 3:15-16]. The scripture shows us in Job 8:13-15  the portion of those who live in secret sins. They are hypocrites pretending to be righteous people. They carryout out their sins in their closets, in dark places of the earth and in their private lounges quarters; forgetting that God sees them and will reward them accordingly.

Secret Sin denies you access to God’s presence and disconnects you from your source of divine sustenance. Many parade themselves around in well tailored suits and outfits; appearing to all as responsible and disciplined people, but their closets are full of dreadful and dirty secret, the likes that should not even be mentioned among God’s children. Most especially Sexual immoralities and perversion; which have kept many from possessing their God given possessions.

Sexual Immorality has denied many who parade themselves as God’s children and servants, the power to manifest as the sons of God. Romans 8:14 says that as many as are led by the Spirit of God, that they are the sons of God. And there is no way you can be led by the Holy Spirit when your closets are full of secret sins.

The world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God, but many have exchanged it in the alters of adultery and fornication with all forms of perversions, [Romans 8:19]. Many cannot manifest as sons and daughters of God because they have polluted their bodies which is the temple of God with secret sins; and the Holy Spirit cannot dwell in polluted temples, let alone leading them, [1 Corinthians 6:15-20].

Secret Sin is a barrier preventing real intimacy with God. Secret Sin grieves the Holy Spirit. So until you genuinely repent of those secret sins, by confessing and forsaking them, you will remain stinking and dead in the eye of God. You prayers will remain an abomination and a filthy rag before God. The Scripture says in Psalms 66:18, that if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. [Isaiah 59:1-2; Proverbs 15:8; Isaiah 64:6]

The Bible says in Proverbs 28:13-14, that anyone that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whosoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy. Happy is the man that fears God always: but anyone that hardens his heart shall fall into mischief. Are you given to masturbation, or are you addicted to pornography? Yes, it maybe that no one sees you or knows about it; it is your little secret hidden very tight inside your closet. Now is the day of salvation, repent and be converted.

Do not be surprised, even some servants of God, ministers in the church, bishops, pastors, reverends, priests etc, are not innocent or free from the hold of secret sins. God sees, God knows! Galatians 6:7-8 says, be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. The Scripture say in Psalms 90:8, that God has set our iniquities before Him, that our secret sins are in the light of His countenance.

There Are Consequences For Secret sins

Jeremiah 16:17-18 say that God’s eyes are upon all our ways. That they are not hid from His face, neither is our iniquity hid from His eyes. And first He will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled His land, they have filled His inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable things.

The Solution To Secret Sin

The solution to secret sin is Total Repentance and Surrender to the Word of God. You must acknowledge your sins, repent and forsake them; and ask the mercies of god through the Blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

The Scripture says in 1 John 1:6 & 9, that if we say that we have fellowship with God, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. but that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. It is not too late to Repent!

Jesus is saying in Revelation 3:20-22, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.
