Words of Salvation, Deliverance and Revival
God hates excuses, as all excuses originate from the lusts of the flesh. Excuse to the things of God emanates from the desires of the flesh which is in opposition to the will of God. The Bible says in Romans 8:7, that the carnal mind (which is the flesh) is the enemy of God because it is not subject to the law of God; it does not obey the Word of God and neither indeed can be i.e. it does not have the capacity to obey the law or the Word of God.
Every excuse comes from the desire to satisfy the flesh. In Luke 5:3, peter had the opportunity to satisfy his flesh by telling Jesus Christ, ‘’No please, I have toiled all night and am very tired’’. I need to get some sleep. But he did not do that. If he had done that, he might as well have lost his salvation because Jesus will quickly switch to whosoever that is available to serve God. He put his flesh under and in verse 6 of the same Luke, chapter 5, we saw how he reaped reward for sowing into the Spirit.
WHAT IS AN EXCUSE?
Excuse in this context is giving all the reasons within your reach, why you should not do what God asked you to do. It is giving reasons why you have not put your flesh under subjection to the word of God. Excuse is given all logical and illogical reasons why you cannot live up to God’s expectation or plan for your life. It is letting the cares of this world to stop you from serving God willingly and wholeheartedly, cheerfully and unpersuaded, joyfully with all gladness of heart; and with a perfect heart. [Luke 21: 34].
Excuse is letting your job, family, your business, money, food, clothing, house, cars and material things stop you from serving God faithfully. It is letting anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, covetousness, greed, lies, fornication, adultery, idolatry, cheating, stealing, unfaithfulness, wickedness, sorcery, witchcraft and all forms of lust, carnality and human emotions stop you from seeking and serving God diligently. [Galatians 5: 19-21]. There is no good excuse for denying the calling and service of God.
If you make excuses to God’s calling and invitation, repentance and service, you will be replaced, God can use anybody who purges himself from every work of the flesh and is available unto every good work. [2 Timothy 2: 19-21]. That is why Jesus said. ‘’That he is at the door (of our heart) knocking, calling out to us to open our hearts to him and invite him into our lives. If surrender our hearts to him and he will come in and sup with us and we with him. [Revelation 3:20].
Jesus does not discriminate, whoever you are, rich or poor, small or great, male or female, a child or an adult, if you hear his voice (the Word of God) and open the door of your heart to him; he will come in and dine with you (he will accept your worship, offering and service) and you with him (He will pour out his blessings on you and your generations in the life to come).
PRAYER
For God to use you, you must make yourself available: Availability is readiness in the spirit, skill, mind and all that is required for a task and not necessarily the consciousness of the task. God only uses those who are available and not the talented, skillful, eloquent and/ or qualified. Most people God used in the Bible to do great signs and wonders were not qualified.
Abraham was not qualified (he was from the family of idolaters). Moses was not qualified (he was slow of speech and an outcast). Gideon was not qualified (he was from a poor family and least in his father’ house). Esther was not qualified (she was an orphan and a slave). David was not qualified (he was a shepherd boy reserved in the wilderness). Peter was not qualified (he was a fisherman). Paul was not qualified (he was a persecutor of the Church of Christ).
You can equally be counted among these great men and women of God if only you will abandon excuses.
I would like you to close your eyes and say the following prayers aggressively from your heart.
