The Enemy Turns A Foothold, Into A Stronghold

The devil is your number one enemy. If you give this enemy a foothold , he will turn it into a stronghold which will make life more difficult. Before the devil will come to you and defeat you, there must be an access point. That access point is called a ladder through which the Enemy can climb into your life, your home, your marriage, your health unhindered.

That ladder could be (mostly) sin, it could be curses, it could be evil covenant, ancestral bondage, anger, unforgiveness, idolatry, sexual immorality, coveteousness etc.

Before the enemy can gain access into your life, he requires a permit, and the good news is that there are only two persons who have the authority to issue such permit, You and God.

In most cases, God only grant the devil such permit when the person concerned is living unrighteously and in wickedness and has refused to repent and heed God’s warning.

The other case where God can grant such permission is when God challenges the devil over your righteousness, and glory be to God, it was a one off case, as we saw in the case of Job.

Therefore, the only authority remaining is You; and 100% of the time, you are the one who issues the permit.

How To Overcome The Enemy

The first step to defeating the enemy of your life is to submit yourself to the Will of the Almighty God. The scripture says in James 4:7-8 that we should submit ourselves to God, in order to resist the devil, and he will flee from us. And when we draw near to God by repenting from all our sins, He will draw near to us. And builds His wall of fire around us which the enemy cannot overcome.

Another step to defeating the enemy is by living a consecrated life. Holiness is a disinfectant to the devil. The enemy of your soul hate s holiness and cannot strive in a consecrated vessel. So if you live a holy life, you will be inviting constant presence of God while putting the enemy at bay.

The Bible says in Romans 12:1-2 that we should present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. And that we should not be conformed to the sinful practices and lusts of this world. But we should transform our lives by the renewing of your mind, so that we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We can also defeat the enemy by separating ourselves from the world and purging our spirit, soul and body with constant Word of God. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to avoid all works of the flesh and all appearances of evil. We are to constantly seek the Will of God through His Word and apply them to our everyday lives.

The scripture says in 2 Timothy 2:21-2, that if a man purges himself from the works of the flesh (Galatians 5: 19-21), he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and fit for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. That we should flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

What the devil need in your life is just a little space and he will turn it into his territory if you do not check him and block his advances. He is like cancer, it starts little but turns into a malignant tumor if unchecked. All he needs is a little ignorance of the Word of God here and there. A little sin here and there and he will start his destructive project.

Just a little anger here and there you would say, but before you know it, you have turned into a wrathful and bitter person. Just a little unforgiveness and the enymy will make you a hater. A little alcohol and a little fun; but before you realize, you have committed fornication with a total stranger in one-nightstand. The devil can ruin your life in an instant if you give him the chance. So don’t give him a single space in your life before he will turn the Landlord of your life.

God Bless You.
